A rich history that dates back to our opening in 1972, The Colander is a family restaurant specializing in home style Italian cuisine. The restaurant has an open, casual atmosphere that lends itself to large parties and intimate dining experiences. Our customers are always excited to find old friends and neighbours who “come home for a Colander fix”!

Our signature sauce is prepared in house daily. Our cooks work diligently to ensure the same delicious sauce, meatball and chicken recipes that we developed in 1972 are impeccably served today. We strive to buy locally as much as possible.

The Colander Special remains our most popular meal. If you’re feeling adventurous, scan our menu for equally delicious offerings like our rib and spaghetti dinner and baked pastas.

Stop in for lunch Tuesday to Friday between 11:30am and 2:00pm. Our lunch menu includes our famous pasta & meatballs along with our mouth-watering and highly addictive burgers, salads, subs, soup and monthly specials!

We call ourselves the “Trail Tradition” because our story is interwoven with the historical fabric of the City of Trail and we are proud to be a part of that history.

If dining at home, please call ahead. We will prepare your order and send you on your way. We are always pleased to help you with large group take-out orders.
